Verification Process
Every Finest Kind Certified™ timepiece completes the full 9-Step process below, and each image is from real documented verification work performed in-house.
Step 1
Intake & Baseline
Document the watch exactly as received: exterior condition, bracelet condition, set completeness, and link count.
Step 2
Set Authentication
Authenticate and cross-check all included materials. Verify reference and serial alignment across the timepiece, warranty card, and supporting documentation.
Step 3
Forensic Authentication
Microscopic inspection of case, dial, bracelet and movement paired with dimensional + weight verification of watch head and bracelet.
Step 4
Complications Testing
Test real-world mechanical function and operation including winding, hacking seconds, crown action, rotor noise, and all of the subject watch's complications.
Step 5
Magnetization Screening
Record baseline magnetism, demagnetize when needed, and confirm results with a second reading.
Step 6
Movement Diagnostics
Perform timing diagnostics across 6-positions to document movement health and performance (rate, amplitude, beat error) and flag regulation/service concerns.
Step 7
Pressure Testing
Dry pressure testing is performed to confirm water resistance through sealing integrity and identify gasket/caseback/crown risks where applicable.
Step 8
Detailing & Presentation
Ultrasonic bracelet cleaning (when appropriate), case detailing, dust removal, and final prep to ensure the watch is presented at its best, but accurately.

Every Certified watch includes a transparent Verification Suite you can review before purchase, including results, images, and supporting documentation.

Every Certified watch includes a Verification Suite deliverable package — such as authentication documentation, certificate of authenticity, diagnostic results (where applicable), and supporting evidence photos.
Yes. We disclose refinishing, wear, set completeness, and any known aftermarket/non-original parts or inconsistencies. No vague condition language and no surprises after payment.
When applicable, we perform a dry pressure test to evaluate sealing integrity. Not all watches are rated for the same depth, and pressure tests do not guarantee future water resistance.
No. Timegrapher data reflects movement performance at the time of testing. We provide results as part of transparency — not as a lifetime guarantee.
We do not automatically overhaul every watch. Our approach is verification-first: authenticate, inspect, test, document, and disclose. If a watch does not meet our performance standards, it will be serviced and retested before it is ever listed.
